Long-time Tucson resident, and cherished mother, Joanne Blair Martin died August 3, 2003 at Tucson Medical Center.

Mrs Martin was one of an elite group of women of the World War II era, known as Women's Airforce Service Pilots. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Jerome P. Martin Jr. and is survived by her daughters, Patricia Kirchner, Kathleen Whittleton, Deborah Thompson and Janet Park, sister, Janet LaFleur; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces.

A Memorial service will be held Saturday, August 16, 2003 at 10:00 a.m at Pima Air Museum, Hanger #3.
