Dear Nancy Parrish,

My name is Bill Boushelle and am the Public Affairs person for the 4453rd Combat Crew Training Wing ( http://www.4453cctw.org/ ). It is with great enthusiasm that we announce that your site is being awarded our Freedom Award. We have enjoyed viewing " WASP on the Web " and have learned much from it. We owe a tremendous debt to the women who came to the aid of our country ! Their devotion to country, freedom, esprit de corps, bravery, and sacrifices are incredible. We would be pleased if you would accept the Freedom Award from the members of the 4453rd Combat Crew Training Wing web site and also link to our site. Most importantly, we want to say THANK YOU to all of the women who served as WASP's and to you for creating such an informative web site to educate us all.

Best Wishes !

REVIEW:
During World War II, 1,857 young women pilots from all over the United States went to Texas to train with the Air Force to fly military aircraft. This is an extensive site with photos and stories of the training process. Users can read press releases about the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) or listen to audio clips of songs sung by WASPs during their training. The site has images of WWII and pictures and detailed information about the aircraft. Other audio files include speeches about the WASPs or users can view the speech text along with stories and quotes. The "Records" section of the site has official documents from the era and links to outside resources. Educators will be able to view or submit lesson plans and articles written by students and educators in the "Resources" area of the site. This is a new way to approach the teaching of World War II, as many students may be unfamiliar with the WASP story. The material here would also work for women's studies classes and student reports. Dear Nancy,

Your site was submitted by a fellow editor here at Suite101.com (Barb Chandler), for the Best Personal Veteran's Web-Site Contest.  After having reviewed the site myself, I must say without qualification Wow, was I impressed! Great job. Thus, your Web-site is featured as one of the contest entries.

First off, I would like to offer my congratulations on a fine effort and thank you for being a part of our efforts to bring information, resources and the best of  the Web to fellow veterans.

...I congratulate you and wish you the very best in all your future endeavors.

April 1998 -- COOL  Doctor

WASP on the WEB has a unique site. While the graphics take a while to load, it is interesting enough that we were glad we waited, and picked them as a WINNER! A tribute to the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) of WWII, first women in history to fly American military aircraft, and they did it almost 60 years ago. THEY were COOL...they still are! We should remember that...

(and then from the announcement email: You deserve many thanks from us and our readers for your efforts in providing an excellent web site and making the Internet "the place to surf.")

Best wishes,

Robert Zee, Editor <webmaster@cooldoctor.net>

March 1998 -- Cahall's Military Site Review

WOW!!!!!  Where have you been hiding!!  Those were amazing pages!!! I am very impressed with the site. It is women like that, that put women where they are today.  They did not have to "burn bras", but rather proved themselves equals or better than their male counterparts.  You have done a super job here, not only providig an excellent piece of history but also promoting women!!! The scrapbook was well laid out and interesting as well as other parts of the site.  You have done an excellent job, and as soon as I finish here, am forwarding your URL to my wife, at work, as I know she would want to see it.

So without futher ado, we at RM1 Cahall's Naval History, would like to award your site the RM1 Cahall's Military Site Award of Excellence.  Congratulations!! Keep up the great work ...

...and thanks for making the web a better place,
Sincerely

Hi Nancy,

Thank you for visiting our quiet corner of the web and giving us the opportunity to visit your excellent site. I was very impressed by the outstanding quality of content and ease of navigation throughout your site. The Women Airforce Service Pilots should be very proud of the work you have put into the site which reflects the high standard of their organization. Congratulations on producing a web site that the Women Airforce Service Pilots and their families can be very proud of. I really enjoyed the trip back through time when family, friends and country meant a lot more than they do today.

I have attached our Award of Excellence for your site and once again would like to thank you for allowing us the opportunity to view one of the most progressive sites on the World Wide Web. I've added links to your site on our awards page as well as out Making a Difference page.

Sincerely,

Ben from Home & Hearth, the quiet corner of the web,
